At the time of his murderous rampage that left 27 dead before his suicide in Sandy Hook Elementary School last December, Adam Lanza was not under the influence of any drugs or alcohol, according to an autopsy report released Tuesday by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Tests for cocaine, opiates, oxycodone, marijuana and other substances came back negative, according to the three-page autopsy report dated February 28. The toxicology testing was performed on February 14 by NMS Testing of Willow Grove, Pa.
"The analysis included a search for over 270 medications, illicit drugs, and alcohols," the Office of the Chief State's Medical Examiner, said in a brief, three-sentence statement on Tuesday. "None was detected."
The release of the toxicology report was based on the consent of Adam Lanza's father, Peter Lanza.
Requests for comment from Errol Cockfield Jr., a New York public relations executive who has been acting as Peter Lanza's spokesman, were not returned this afternoon.
During the autopsy following the December 14 school shooting, Carver removed about three ounces of tissue from Lanza's brain, muscle and liver for the testing.
Dr. James R. Gill, the newly named chief, was not available for comment Tuesday and Carver, did not return a request for comment.
