This is a tough one so please don't take offense.
According to a Hartford CT, or nearby, newspaper, the various fundraisers/donation sites have collected $90 million so far. --Or maybe that was just the Red Cross Sandy Hook Disaster Relief Fund.. Of the $90 million, it stated each person received $40,000.
Have you received $40,000 or any portion of the funds from SH Disaster Relief Fund or any part of any of the other millions of dollars donated to Sandy Hook?

I have not heard of the Red Cross being involved, is it possible that the Red Cross funds were for hurricane Sandy Victums? And no we have not received any funds but I did not lose a child That thought popped in my head, too, so I re-read it. It was definitely Sandy Hook. (pretty odd that two disasters were named Sandy, tho--could easily be confused) Even though you didn't lose a child, your children (and you) were affected. You have your kids in therapy, presumably because of Dec. 14. I'm not suggesting that you run down to the office and demand a check (weak attempt at joke), and you may not want to believe it, but you and especially your kids also are victims of this man-made disaster. That's why I asked if FEMA/similar was paying for therapy. If nothing else, they should pay for that. I hope you understand how I mean this.

Tuffy, either you or your source are confused. Superstorm Sandy has a Red Cross Relief Fund, not the Sandy Hook shooting. Sandy was the hurricane. The Red Cross gets involved in natural disasters, not shootings. Last I heard the Red Cross fund was above $110 million. The largest fund for the Sandy Hook shooting was originally administered by the United Way, and is now being moved to a new Foundation - it totals $9.5 million. There are a few other sizeable funds that total about $3 million today, and lots of tiny ones. Probably a total of $13 million.
