Why are there separate groups for the family counselings? Who performs the services, a program like FEMA? What's the 'criteria' for the other family counselings? and please don't get me wrong on this, it bothers me even typing it: Is the criteria whether the child died or not? ...I'll leave my question at that. I don't want to give my opinion or offend anyone.

We are doing counseling as a family and individually with the kids as most people are doing. Victims most likely have their own individual therapists. We have meetings with other parents at school and such but therapy wise, it's up to each parent and person to decide their families needs b

Is the counseling being given by FEMA or similar national disaster services? Many times they give a certain number of counseling sessions free and set up local psychologists for after-care if needed.

As far as I know FEMA is not involved. My children have funds for mental health through the states office of victims services. I also have an EAP from work and the local Lions Club has raised funds to help families to. But it is up to the individual families to decide on the care needed
