Hi, thank you guys for your time and answering these questions.
In multiple news video we are shown a chase scene with police officers in the woods chasing, they thought was a suspect. WE are now told that this was an off duty police officer. A response to my questions indicated the media arrived well after the shooting. I would like to know at what time did the woods chase scene occur, and if it was really an off duty police officer? Thanks

I'm not one of the parents and can't answer about the guys in the woods but...on the police tape dispatch put the call out at 9:35. At 9:39 cops on scene say "they're coming at us. this is it" and a helo is taping the woods chase. This helo chase footage was never identified as a news chopper, so it must have been law enforcement? My question is how they got on scene in the air in 4 minutes?

If it was state police, there are SP barracks all over the place.
If it was a CT news team, Hartford is not far. I was reading on facebook about the shooting sometime between 9am and 9:30am. I cant remember exactly the time - doingitlocal.com posts all their news off police scanners so the posting was made as soon as the call came in.... of course, as I go back and look for the post on their facebook page, December 14th is conveniently missing.

What they said about the helicopters being there so quickly was that a 'disaster drill' was being done --at the same time-- at a nearby school. Reports on the 'drill' school vary from St. Rose a couple miles away to one about 20miles away. With the drill occurring at exactly the same time, it was a short hop to S. Hook.

There wasnt a drill going on at Saint Rose - I can say that with the utmost certainty, as my nephew goes to school there and I went to HS with the head of their music department. There was supposed to be a FEMA drill going on in downtown Bridgeport that morning, which is only 20 minutes by car. So one would assume it's only a few minutes in the air (I dont know how that translates since Ive never been in a helicopter)
