Do you think he is just setting up for a lawsuit? One of the teachers gunned down in Sandy Hook Elementary may have been more helpless than others. Lauren Rousseau’s father says his daughter was only a substitute teacher so she wasn’t given keys to lock the door. Locking the door is standard procedure during a lockdown. Her father wonders if she would be alive today had she been able to lock the gunman out. Rousseau’s car is a testament to the high powered gun that Adam Lanza used during massacre. Bullets passed through the car, after piercing the walls and windows of the school Rousseau earned a Master’s degree in education, but had been searching since graduation for a permanent job. pix11.com/2012/12/19/father-of-slain-sandy-hook-teacher-says-she-didnt-have-keys-to-lock-the-room/#axzz2L1drsLVDHere%27s

You would think handing keys over, classroom, bathroom, etc would be something given to them as soon as subs would come in???

i obviously don't know much about how anything works....but, the one about the lady saying they didnt have a key, so the custodian locked the door for them...but then they were able to open the door when the police came... or did i completely misunderstand??

Definitely a contradiction, maybe custodian unlocked the door for police...

@nina...maybe...just seems odd that if the janitor unlocked the door, then what was the need for the teacher to have to open the door for the police? just sounds weird to me...

[cite=] 2340-002-ASSA ABLOY Key Control Design Guide1. K-12 facilities require heightened lock and key management to protect a highly vulnerable population of students and staff.
seems common sense an inside snap-lock should be operable by panic-mode novice with the hall-entry-override to be by established key-control procedures such as may be determined to be compliant with Health, Life, Safety Code
