Ok it was brought up in another thread that we are not seeing the same info online and in the news as all of you. So we are not able to answer the true questions you have. I agree! I also agree that the media screwed things all up in a rush to get info out.
My question to you is are any of you trying to get answered from the media agencies as to all the inconsistencies ? I agree whole heartily that the media is bias and you can't believe anything you hear completely. But the same goes for stories on line. How do you know they are real. There are many crazy people who just find putting up mis info fun,. I have a hard time watching some of the video's on line as so many are filled with hurtful stuff to me. So what are you all doing to get the media and the online info source to help straighten out Theresa they made. .

I am not so much asking for answers or opinions to media presentation,, more actual footage and info being found by "us" that doesn't make sense. If officials would release the info from their 3 plus month "investigation", maybe it would clear up some of this, maybe just raise more questions. I know as a parent, I would be questioning everything and asking that all the funds donated be used for video surveillance, better Security measures, etc rather than pushing for gun control. Legal or illegal, there will be guns so knowing that someone with a gun shot open a window to gain access, I would "lobby" for a system that secured classrooms in case of a breach, such as auto door locks. I would just think that with such a tragedy in a small town, the town would demand a full disclosure of the details and timeline, rather than rumors and speculation and analyze what could be done if the same thing were to possibly happen again, to ensure that more children could have been saved. There still isn't even a real answer as to how and when the guns were obtained so how, with all the misinformation can parents go public with wanting new laws when they don't really know if those laws would have helped prevent what happened. Just my opinion for what it's worth.

But again the final report isn't out. Most of us are not creating the rumors. Many people have taken up there cause often this, weather it be gun control, mental health issues, or a total social crisis of selfish people who take no responsibility , blame everyone else and are just plain mean to people for no reason.
Maybe we will have my questions when the report comes in. But you can be sure that we as a community are doing everything possible to ensure our kids will be safe.
But back to my main question, what kind of pressure are you guys putting on the media to clear the record?

Yes if I was anyone from Newtown I would surely be in the media defending myself that is for sure, I wouldn't want my name spewed all over the World, I mean think about it???....It's not like people everywhere aren't talking about this, rather it being real or a hoax which ever you agree with or not....do you understand where some people are coming from?...For instance Robbie Parker of all people he is the number one person whose name is being brought up all the time, you mean to tell me he doesn't care?...or he doesn't want to atleast say one thing to clear it up?....My gosh if he has enough time to talk about gun control and still hasn't looked like he has shed a tear let alone had time to grieve how can he?...He is always out doing something.....Why don't you both come out to the new/media gosh call TMZ I'm sure they're dying to pick up this story...Clear your towns name............

Why should we have to get the media to report facts? It's not our fault they had wrong information early on and continue to release false information. They were in Sandy Hook and Newtown. They have talked/have had interviews with many people. Sandy Hook/Newtown residents should be telling the media what is wrong since you/they know more than us. Because you are all sighting the discrepancies as your reason for doubt. We do not doubt anything we have been told by our police. Most of us never watched any of the news. And if we can't give you the answers about that it seems to me you would want answers from them

We have no need to clear up our name. I was about to say we, but I can not honestly speak for the entire town. I do not really care if the media made a mess of it. And people are on the Internet claiming it to be a hoax. Our town knows all too well this happened and are putting our efforts into healing our children, teachers and families.

Mom, I think for me, it's not that I think it was a hoax, or it didnt happen... because I obviously know it did. For me, it's clearing up the discrepancies. There has been SO much misinformation, so much strange footage. And many of my questions come from footage I was watching live that day, so it's not to say I saw something incorrect or that had been doctored.
I would also love to know where all the fundraiser money is going. My husband is playing a benefit next month and we don't know exactly where the money is going (and let's face it, a LOT of money has been raised and distributed already... is there really a NEED for more?)

The onus is on every American to demand that news sources present things in a factual, unbiased way, but the thing is, people are biased by nature, and generally if what we hear doesn't jibe with our own personal world view, we object to it, dispute it, and call it "slanted" or "biased". At this point, news sources are just out there to make a buck, and the more sensationalized a story is, the more people watch, and the more money the media source makes. The so-called "mainstream media" isn't in cahoots with the government, it's in the game to make a profit, nothing more. But there are certain standards that they're supposed to meet, and they should be held responsible for not getting the facts straight. If the American public doesn't hold them accountable, who will?
Some people like to say anyone who takes news sources and official stories at face value are "drinking kool aid" or "sheeple" - but If you think some random person's "exposé" on YouTube is some kind of valid, well-researched, hard-hitting investigative piece, who's the naive one?? Anyone can put the most outlandish, ridiculous theory out on YouTube and call it "fact" without being held liable for the lies and rumors they're spreading - why on earth would you believe that nonsense?
As for Robbie Parker - his beautiful daughter was murdered!! Why should he have to prove to you how deeply he's mourning her? When did we, as total strangers, become the judge and jury of how, when, and how publicly another person should grieve? If you have any sense of morality, spirituality, or decency, you would know in your heart that that is a horrible, wrong thing to do. Ask all the questions you want, analyze what you will, but when you start picking apart other human beings and the quality and quantity of their feelings, WHICH ARE BY NATURE INQUANTIFIABLE, you are part of the problem - you are part of the reason why there is such ugliness in this world, and why we live in a world where children and other innocents are murdered every day. There isn't some big government plot - there is only love and big-heartedness, or ugliness and a total lack of compassion and kindness - which side are you (the people questioning what happened at Sandy Hook, NOT the people of Newtown) on?

Timeforchange, a lot of money has been raised, but only a tiny amount has been distributed so far. Why is your husband raising more money? And why are you asking other people why money is being raised when your husband is raising it? This is the story of most of the fundraisers - being raised by people trying to do something nice - not being raised by victims' families. The victims' families are asking where this money is going to go, too. There were thousands of stuffed animals and beanie babies sent here too - that wasn't a conspiracy, either. If the money keeps coming, I'm sure some will be used for a new or heavily rebuilt school.

I just think it's awful to judge people who are going through such a horrible ordeal. That's my personal opinion. I can't speculate on how I would behave if I lost my daughter, who is everything to me, because I don't want to even imagine that reality! I have nothing but compassion for the parents who lost their little ones, and for the parents whose children experienced such a terrible, horrific thing. Question the Medical Examiner, fine. The authorities, whatever. But I feel the parents and other grieving families should be off limits.

I know everyone knows how they THINK they would act when in the situation but unless you are in it you really don't. Almost 7 years ago I lost my daughter. I can't even describe what that felt like. Nothing looks the same anymore, it is almost like you are walking through a bad movie just watching it happen. In the days surrounding her death, I cried, I laughed, went blank. When speaking about her I HAD to write it down and read it off of paper. Speaking about her in front of people was one of the last things that I'd ever be able to do for her and I was going to do it right, say everything right and make sure I left nothing out.
It is very easy for people watching the families in the days following to pass judgement because most of you do not know what it is like to lose a child. You are completely numb and it hasn't even processed yet. Almost 7 years later I will be going about my day and it will hit me that my daughter is gone and a wave of pain will crash over me. I think the ONLY thing that keeps you going in the early days of grief is numbness and denial.

Why do I always miss the good stuff? mom, what types of posts did you delete? Were they personal attacks or just something you took offense to? No offense, that is a trouble with individuals having the Power of Delete, which affects the entire conversation and the board. We're all here seeking the truth, and some questions/answers are bound to create negative feelings. They still need to be asked and answered, imo.
